Reminiscing

Today I found a box of stuff from my school days. Nate and I have had a lot of fun looking through it. I found a fairy tale I had to translate into German (of course, for German class), and we were trying to read it. Man, we can't speak German very well at all!! That will be something good to work on.

You know, it's amazing what you can find when you move, and have to find a new home for everything. Oh yeah. We moved! I didn't blog about that. Well, it was kind of unexpected, but it was a good move. We liked where we lived before, but it was quite expensive, and on a really busy road, so we had been looking for a new place. Ok, so not NEW, but new to us, and definitely cheaper. Our "new" place has 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms (our last one had 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms), a huge laundry room, and a recreation room in the basement. I like that the front door has a screen on it so we can let the breeze come in. I wish there was a screen on the back door too, but I will just have to ask the landlord about that. The windows are REALLY old (still the metal frames with 2 separate panes of glass), but they are OK. I love the big laundry room. I want to get a folding table for down there, and put up a shelf to store my laundry soap and stuff. That would make it so much more usable.

It is quite nice. The best part is the big backyard. OK. I lied. That's not the best part. The best part is the amount of money we will be saving! But our backyard is SO much bigger than our last place. Plus, there is a bunch of land that is part of a Conservation Area. I searched for Little Fork Wildlife, and the description says they have wildflowers and wetlands. I have seen the wildflowers, but maybe the wetlands are somewhere else. Or maybe it's the creek. I don't know. I've seen plenty of squirrel, and a few deer. I haven't seen turkey, geese, or ducks yet, but I think we will need to explore this place more. We live next to one end of the Little Fork Wildlife area, but the information I read says it covers 8 miles of land. COOL! We will have to check it out. I'm not going without Brian though. He is my protector, and I am not a fan of snakes. I'm not ashamed to admit that snakes freak me out! And there are a lot of snakes out there by the creek. Maybe they aren't venomous, but I'm still freaked out.

I will have to charge my DROID phone, and take some pictures. I haven't been taking as many pictures since i stopped using it as my primary cell phone. I am trying to cut back unnecessary expenses. So, I just need to save my money, and get a decent digital camera for Christmas. I wish...
