52 Blessings Project, Week 37

Yes, I realize I missed a week. Whoops! Here's for last week.
Brian and I got to go to a WONDERFUL concert tonight. It was at The Conference Center in Salt Lake City. My Dad's work (O.C. Tanner, a jeweler)gave him free tickets to this concert called Gift of Music. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang, The Utah Symphony played, Denyce Graves sang (I'm not a fan of opera so she wasn't my favorite), Erich Kunzel conducted (he was SO animated!! We really liked him!), and Brian Stokes Mitchell sang. It was such a WONDERFUL concert. I'm too tired to write all about it now but I had 2 very favorite parts of the concert. The first favorite part is when the conductor, Erich Kunzel, had the Symphony play all the songs of the different branches of the Armed Forces and while they were playing, had people in the audience stand if they had served or were serving in those branches of the military. It was such a great thing to see how many people have served (or are currently serving) our country. Brian served in the 82nd Airborne Division in the Army for 3 1/2 years so I think more about these kinds of things than I used to.
My 2nd favorite part was when Brian Stokes Mitchell sang a song called "New Words". It's about a Dad singing to his little son, trying to teach him words like moon, stars, and I love you. It was such a beautiful song!! It reminded us of when we were trying to get Marshall to say, "I Love You." It took him a long time of us saying it to him MANY times a day before he finally said it.
